This was one of Yorks last ‘real’ shops. So sad. The City Councils ‘progressive’ policies over the last 30 years make it impossible for such places to survive and for local people to frequent them, instead favouring the ever encroaching out-of-town sheds and making the city a virtual museum for tourists. I’ve lived here all my life, I used to do all my shopping in York. Now i go to Malton where some real shops still exist, you can park for free and there is still some semblence of customer service.
